Jenna Cramer
Jenna Cramer joins the Boston Leadership Licensure Initiative with 12 years of educational experience. She became a Literacy Coach for Boston Public Schools four years ago providing embedded professional development for teachers based on data and the differentiated needs of teachers and students. Jenna’s strengths lie in facilitation of ILT, LLT and CPT meetings and developing courses of study for teachers based on the Whole School Improvement Plan and the priorities of the district.
Prior to working in Boston, Jenna was a Reading Recovery Teacher in Cambridge and also spent 5 years as a Literacy Specialist in the Brookline Public Schools.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Sociology from Emmanuel College and an M.S. in Language Acquisition and Literacy from Wheelock Graduate School.
Sara Hosmer
Sara Hosmer comes to the Boston Leadership and Licensure Initiative with 12 years of urban public school experience. Most recently, Sara was a guidance counselor at the John D. O’Bryant, where she also facilitated the ILT. Sara’s passion for urban education and educational equity stem from her teaching experiences in the Baltimore City Public Schools as well as her roots in macro social work. Sara holds a BSW from Wheelock College, an MSW from Boston University, and an MEd. in Education Administration from Boston College.
Helaine Jenkins Sanches
Ms. Sanches brings a combined total of seventeen years as a private and public school educator, teaching grades ranging from k-12 and performing a variety of leadership roles. She has enjoyed the last ten years of her career as an English teacher, literacy coach and part-time new teacher developer/mentor. Most recently, she taught grades ten and twelve English at the Madison Park High School.
After leaving a career in business, Helaine earned a Bachelor degree in English literature with a minor in Africana studies from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. In 2001 she completed a Master’s degree in Reading/literacy education from Boston College. Since then she has taken additional graduate courses in special education and education leadership.
Cassandra Morgan
Cassandra Morgan joins the Boston Leadership Licensure Initiative with seven years of experience as an educator Schools at the Curley K-8 School in Jamaica Plain. She displayed strong leadership skills as a Co-founder of the Black Family and Student Alliance at the Curley and as the Coordinator of the Before School. Cassandra sits on the board of directors of the Greenwood Shalom After School Program where she and has served for four years. She attended the University of Massachusetts and received a degree in Sociology.
Sharon Sealy
Sharon Sealy brings to the Boston Leadership Licensure Initiative over 16 years of leadership in education. She has served as a fifth grade and third grade teacher at the James A. Garfield Elementary School in Boston. At the Garfield, Sharon coordinated grade level workshops for parents and teachers to support the implementation of the district’s mathematics initiatives, facilitated instructional leadership team meetings and served as the Garfield Chorus Director. In addition, she served as a supervisor and cooperating teacher for Boston College students completing their student practicum at the Garfield. Sharon earned a Bachelor’s degree in music at Eastern Nazarene College and an M.Ed Elementary Education at Cambridge College.
Cyndi Weekes-Christopher
Cyndi Weekes-Christopher brings to the Boston Leadership Licensure Initiative over ten years of experience in education. For the last three years, she has worked as the Manager of Extended Learning and Services at the John Marshall School in Dorchester developing quality school-based out of school time services aligned with the DESE state standards. Cyndi also served on several school-based instructional leadership teams; provided instructional and community networking for students access to resources; co-led the schools 10-Boys Initiative Program; worked closely with the school's administrative team to ensure daily smooth operations, and wrote grants for the school.
Prior to her tenure at the Marshall, Cyndi served as a Program Director at the Marshall for Building Leaders for Life (B.E.L.L.) and taught outside the district for four years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, a Master's Degree in Teaching from Simmons College and successfully completed an intense year of study in Boston School Leadership Institute’s Instructional Leadership Institute.
